Emilio Garmendia

Human Performance Coach

My Story

Long before I understood the science behind a breath hold or a cold plunge, I understood what it felt like to push a body further than it thought it could go. I spent my early years as a competitive swimmer, then became a coach — guiding an Olympic athlete through two full Olympic cycles and a generation of young swimmers through my program.

A move from Mexico to Europe brought me to breathwork and cold exposure, and what began as a personal necessity became six years of training across four certified methods: Wim Hof Method, XPT, Oxygen Advantage, and Buteyko.

Today, as a Human Performance Coach, I work with people the same way I once trained: by understanding exactly where someone is, and building the path to where they want to go. My approach is personal, tailored to whoever I'm working with, whether that's one person, a team, or a company. Emilio teaches skills you can use for life: guiding your body and mind at will, performing under pressure, and continuously improving your performance.

Why Work With Emilio?

Founder of Club del Hielo

I offer personalized coaching — 1:1 sessions — with adults, kids, athletes, and companies, as well as sessions for groups and events, with anyone seeking longevity and a better quality of life. I'm also the founder of Club del Hielo, a community ice bath in Barcelona.

The four methods I teach share the same mission: learning to guide your own body and mind on purpose — moving between effort and calm exactly when you need to — to perform better and, ultimately, improve your life. Whether that means overcoming stress and anxiety, sleeping better, or reaching peak performance, in sport and in life in general.

Four Ways I Can Help

I speak Spanish, English, Portuguese, and German.
